Storm Damage Mitigation in Woodbury
The rainwater can easily penetrate a punctured roof in a Woodbury structure caused by severe winds. The crew from SERVPRO can arrive within hours of the call to begin damage control. In this case, we can cut up and remove the intruding tree limbs and place a temporary blue tarp over the hole in the roof. We want to limit the wet areas in the attic, limiting the drying process. The first step is to prevent further degradation to the trusses, insulation, and ceiling below once the exterior tarp is in place. The After Photo shows the correct procedure for securing this poly covering to prevent rain, critters, and insects from invading the home from above. We can eventually repair the ceiling from the water damage and the dimensional shingles and sheathing on the roof.
